A dairy farm outside Callao has the best dairy steer in the state for the second time in three years.  At Thursday afternoon’s contest kicking off dairy shows at the Missouri State Fair, a Jersey steer named Jerry emerged as champion.  The steer was shown by Evan Schaefer, and dairy superintendent Amy Jo Estes says Evan and his family have been a fixture in the barns for several years.

Schaefer exhibited the champion dairy steer in 2021 and also had last year’s reserve champion.
