High-Speed Seed Sorting Machine On Its Way To Bay Farm
Missouri Soybeans will soon welcome to its Bay Farm Research Center east of Columbia a machine capable of sorting up to 3,000 beans per second. Research Director Greg Luce says the QSorter will allow for faster research on genetic traits, allowing more farmers to utilize the latest technology.
Luce says initial priority will be to identify more beans that contain high levels of oleic acid. However, he says the QSorter can identify many other traits.
Missouri Soybeans Research Director Greg Luce says the QSorter should arrive later this year and be operational by this winter.
