IOWA FARM BUREAU FEDERATION ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT OF GENERAL COUNSEL AND SELECTION OF SUCCESSOR
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa- April 19, 2022– The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation (IFBF) announced today that Ed Parker will retire as General Counsel of the IFBF and its affiliated companies on June 1, 2022. He will be succeeded by Mark Wickham, IFBF’s current Assistant General Counsel.
Parker is concluding his 28-year career with IFBF after having served as General Counsel since 2007. Prior to his current position, Parker held several positions in the organization’s legal department, providing representation and day-to-day legal services to the affiliated insurance and farm service companies, and the county Farm Bureaus.
“Ed has led with integrity and a keen focus on the farmer. His dedicated service to the IFBF and its affiliates over the last several years has played a significant role in the entire organization’s current success,” noted IFBF President Brent Johnson.
Effective June 1, 2022, Mark Wickham will succeed Parker as General Counsel of the IFBF and its affiliated companies. Wickham has served as Assistant General Counsel since 2014, providing investment, business, and transactional representation and legal advice to the IFBF and its affiliated companies. Prior to joining Farm Bureau, Wickham was a shareholder at the Davis Brown Law Firm, specializing in representing and providing legal advice to clients within the ethanol and bio-fuels industry.
“The IFBF Board of Directors is confident in Mark’s proven legal skills, and his ability to advise the IFBF and its affiliated companies for their continued success”, noted IFBF President Brent Johnson.
Wickham received his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University and his law degree from the University of Iowa. He and his wife, Sara, have four children and reside in Indianola, Iowa.
