Marion, Eastern Monroe Counties Abnormally Dry Again

Two changes for eastern Missouri appeared on this week’s US Drought Monitor compiled by USDA and the University of Nebraska.  Abnormally dry conditions approached Hannibal in the past week, now covering all of Lewis and most of Marion counties, along with eastern Monroe County.  Meanwhile, areas of the Bootheel that had been dry the past two months have returned to normal.  Overall, abnormally dry conditions increased in Missouri to 36.7 percent of the state.  Moderate drought conditions along the Missouri River in St Charles and Warren counties were unchanged, totaling 0.4 percent.
