Franklin County Extension and Outreach in conjunction with Butler County
Extension and Outreach is excited to hold core training sessions this fall for
individuals interested in becoming Master Gardeners.
The Master Gardener program is looking for people who are passionate about
volunteering and gardening. No previous garden knowledge is required. The
program equips volunteers to grow in knowledge about gardening best practices.
After the training, Master Gardeners volunteer in their community, making
significant contributions such as giving produce to food banks for food security,
learning more about gardening practices, and making Iowa’s fairgrounds and main
streets beautiful.
Master Gardener training sessions will be held in a hybrid model beginning August
22 nd , 2022 and running through October 28 th , 2022. Details of meeting dates and
topics can be found on our website extension.iastate.edu/franklin or on our
Facebook page. Scholarships will be available for five individuals after completing
the required trainings and volunteer hours.
