ending June 26, 2022, according to USDA’s National
Agricultural Statistics Service.
Topsoil moisture supplies were rated 1 percent very
short, 11 percent short, 75 percent adequate, and
13 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were
rated 1 percent very short, 9 percent short,
78 percent adequate, and 12 percent surplus.
Corn condition was 1 percent very poor, 4 percent
poor, 31 percent fair, 53 percent good, and 11 percent
excellent. Soybean emergence was at 93 percent,
20 days behind last year and 8 days behind the 5-year
average. Soybean condition was 1 percent very poor,
3 percent poor, 35 percent fair, 53 percent good, and
8 percent excellent.
Oats was 97 percent emerged, 73 percent jointing, and
19 percent headed. Oats condition was 1 percent very
poor, 3 percent poor, 33 percent fair, 54 percent good,
and 9 percent excellent. Spring wheat was 100 percent
emerged and 65 percent jointing. Spring wheat
condition was 0 percent very poor, 1 percent poor,
35 percent fair, 58 percent good, and 6 percent
excellent. Barley was 96 percent emerged, 46 percent
jointing, and 9 percent headed. Barley condition was
0 percent very poor, 1 percent poor, 49 percent fair,
45 percent good, and 5 percent excellent.
Dry edible beans were 92 percent emerged. Dry
edible beans condition was 0 percent very poor,
1 percent poor, 47 percent fair, 45 percent good, and
7 percent excellent. Sunflowers planted was at
93 percent. Sunflowers condition was 0 percent very
poor, 1 percent poor, 20 percent fair, 74 percent good,
and 5 percent excellent. Alfalfa hay first cutting was
at 87 percent, and second cutting was at 7 percent.
Potatoes condition was 0 percent very poor, 0 percent
poor, 13 percent fair, 67 percent good, and 20 percent
excellent. Sugarbeets condition was 4 percent very
poor, 8 percent poor, 24 percent fair, 10 percent good,
and 54 percent excellent.
All hay condition was rated at 0 percent very poor,
3 percent poor, 25 percent fair, 58 percent good, and
14 percent excellent. Pasture condition was rated at
1 percent very poor, 5 percent poor, 23 percent fair,
56 percent good, and 15 percent excellent.
