West Texas A&M University Professors Named as Research Editors

West Texas A&M University is recognizing two professors within the Paul Engler College of Agricultural and Natural Sciences for their efforts in animal science research.

Dr. Ty Lawerence and Dr. John Richeson both animal science professors were chosen to be guest editors for the “ Veterinary Clinics of North America: Food Animal Practices” research piece.

The two professors have completed extensive research in the world of feedlot cattle and the connection between feed and liver abscesses.

The research stems from the Panhandle area and discovering ways to mitigate the impacts of liver abscesses in beef cattle.

Articles from the magazine will dive deeper into the cause of the disease, feeding solutions, and the major impacts it has on the industry.

All the publications will be released later in the month.
