WTAMU Horse Judging Team Named Reserve Champion Team

West Texas A&M University was recognized as the reserve champion at the All-American Quarter Horse Congress judging competition in Columbus, Ohio Oct.12th.

The team ranked second in three categories: Halter, performance, and reasons.

WT competed against 13 teams with a total of 65 athletes throughout the nation.

Trenton Hammerand from Iowa ranked second overall and Marty Kacsh from Colorado ranked 3rd overall.

Other team members included: Jennica Dannehl, Lauryn Harris, Anya Katz, Shanna Marquart, Jillian Melendez, and Anna Wilhelm.

WTAMU was also named reserve champion at the American Paint Horse Association World Championship in Fort Worth on Oct. 1.

The team’s final competition will be Nov 2nd at the American Quarter Horse Associations World Championship in Oklahoma City.
