Placements and marketings at America’s largest feedlots slowed significantly during March, according to monthly totals from USDA.  Friday’s Cattle on Feed report showed placements last month totaling 1,746,000, down 12 percent from a year ago, while marketings were 1,706,000, a 14-percent drop year-over-year.  That resulted in a net drop of 17,000 feeder cattle during the month.  However, the 11,821,000 cattle on hand at the start of April was still one percent higher than the previous year.
