Two pop rock bands from the turn of the century will headline the Missouri State Fair Grandstand presented by CFM Insurance on Aug. 10th.  Fair officials announced Wednesday morning that the Goo Goo Dolls will perform at this year’s fair, along with opening act The Fray.

The Goo Goo Dolls formed in the mid 1980s in Buffalo and went mainstream in 1995 with the release of their single “Name”.  Three years later the group released their multi-platinum album Dizzy Up The Girl, including hit singles “Iris”, “Black Balloon”, and “Slide”.  Their most recent album Chaos in Bloom was released in 2022, and the group began their current tour in February of last year.

Opening act The Fray hails from Denver, with their debut album in 2005 resulting in two hit singles, the title track “How To Save A Life” and also “Over My Head (Cable Car)”.  Their self-titled album won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2010.  The group last released a new album in 2014, titled Helios.

Tickets for the August 10th concert on the Missouri State Fair Grandstand presented by CFM Insurance will run $60 for Grandstand seating and $70 for track seating.  All Grandstand tickets will go on sale the morning of May 21st through Etix.
