Nebraska Cattle On Feed Up 4%

LINCOLN, Neb. September 23, 2022 – Nebraska feedlots, with capacities of 1,000 or more head, contained 2.37 million cattle on feed on September 1, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. This inventory was up 4% from last year.

Placements during August totaled 570,000 head, up 3% from 2021.

Fed cattle marketings for the month of August totaled 510,000 head, up 10% from last year.

Other disappearance during August totaled 10,000 head, unchanged from last year.
