State Fair Mourns Death Of Longtime Poultry Superintendent

The longtime superintendent of the Missouri State Fair’s poultry show has died.  Tony Perryman became the show’s superintendent in 1974, serving in the position for a half-century.  His career in poultry included 30 years spent as a poultry inspector with the Missouri Department of Agriculture and 20 years as a lab technician at University of Missouri experiment stations in Mountain Grove and Columbia.  In addition to the State Fair, Perryman judged poultry at various county fairs, mentored 4-H youth, and participated in the state FFA Poultry Judging Contest and State 4-H Poultry Days.

Perryman died Tuesday morning at the age of 75.  His memorial service was Monday morning at the Forum Christian Church, under the direction of Parker-Millard Funeral Service and Crematory.  Memorials are suggested to the Boone County 4-H Foundation.
